Battlestar Galactica and the MIB evolution

Battlestar Galactica and the MIB evolution

machines completely mimic man

In UFO circles, we you mention MIB(Men in Black), you usually get a knowing look and the archetype of a silencer pops in mind of who or what a MIB is regards to the UFO mythos.  A dark skinned man or woman who flashes some dubious government badge, and is usually there to pressure the witness or researcher into silence.  Other traits of this archetype are cars that are usually out of fashion yet look factory new, and something 'off' about them as if they are learning our culture and habits for the first time.  There is something odd, paranormal, or even mechanical about this MIB that alerts a person something is very very wrong.

While this archetype is with us, I believe there must be an evolution to the MIB to become more agile to blend into society, and the end goal would be a much harder time to spot the MIB.  The ultimate goal of repression and silence is still there, but the method would be more refined then mere bullying, but rather a subversion of witnesses and work of UFO researchers.

In the remake of the classic science fiction show, Battlestar Galactica, the main crux and problem is that the mechanical antagonists of humanity, the cylons, have now evolved to the point where they are completely impossible to tell if they are human or cylon.  Thus the question of what is humanity is posed by the show and the episode arcs.  To connect that to the MIB, if they are evolving to the point of blending effortlessly into society, it now more and more difficult to spot them and their sinister agenda.

In regards to the MIB, there is more truth than fiction in this science fiction show.

After the series ended its run, the cast was invited and gave a speech to the united nations.  Widely ridiculed and lampooned by the popular press, one can't help draw parallels to then President Ronald Reagan speaking about his 'science fiction fantasy' that aliens were among us, and that this threat would galvanize the human race against such an alien foe.

Perhaps, there is something more being broadcast in science fiction then mere episodes or story arcs of favorite characters.  Perhaps a warning against the aliens in our midst.

President Nixon, terrorism, and the soothsayer

President Nixon, terrorism, and the soothsayer

President Nixon who believed in psychic Jeane Dixon
In this post 9/11 world, many don't realize that most of the nation's infrastructure to antiterrorism had its origin with President Nixon and the soothsayer, celebrity psychic Jeane Dixon.  At that point in her career, Dixon had made several psychic claims that had come to pass (notably the assassination of President Kennedy).   Dixon was well known, and was a consultant to several presidents.

In 1949, she predicted Nixon would become president, most scoffed at the idea, but it came to pass that Nixon had indeed become the president of the United States.  Some of her predictions did not pan out, but some of them actually came true to her predictions.  It was this sometimes positive result, that some in power secretly consulted her.  Dixon was a cause of chagrin to the Reagan administration since Nancy Reagan would openly consult Dixon about the travel plans for President Reagan.  Some allege the famous nuclear treaty with Russia was signed on a day that Dixon said would work for President Reagan.

Recent information has come out that then president Nixon actually took her vision of a terrorism attack seriously, and from her prediction Nixon established the first nation anti terrorism committee.  Nixon had a comfortable relationship with Dixon, and he nicknamed her the soothsayer and would listen to her input on a number of the events of the day.

After the murder of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich olympic games, she had predicted a terrorist attack would happen in the united states, and Nixon over the protests of Henry Kissinger created the first 'counterterrorism committee'.  The attack never happened, but the first meetings of how to deal with such an event first happened in the white house under President Nixon.

It a strange fact, that the counter terrorism efforts of the United States would be created in response to a prophetic dream vision of washington seer Jeane Dixon.
